Mrs. Lois Vernasea Sims, 81, died Friday, Dec. 6, 2002 at a local hospital. She was a native of Rabun, Ala. and a resident of Brewton. She was a retired office clerk and fire tower operator with the State of Alabama Forestry Department. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joel Arthur Sims; her son, Robert Eugene Sims; two brothers, Buford Brown and Clyde Brown and her sister, Mary Helen Parker.
She is survived by a sister, Nancy Louise Emmons of Brewton and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, Dec. 10, at 11 a.m. at the Dean Holiness Church with Sister Helen Stewart officiating. Burial followed at Dean Cemetery with Norris Funeral Home of Bay Minette directing.
