T.R. Miller serves up wins in boys', girls' tennis play

With sectional tournaments right around the corner, the T.R. Miller Tigers and Lady Tigers are having a successful tennis season. The girls are undefeated, going 7-0, while the boys are 2-1.
Lady Tigers
The Lady Tigers got their 2003 season off to a fast start with a 7-0 win over W.S. Neal. Top seed Katherine McMillan scored singles wins as did Catherine Stokes, Becky Stallworth, Susan Miller, Jamie Williamson and Gracie Miller.
Victorious in doubles play was McMillan/ Stokes.
The girls also defeated Opp with McMillan, Stallworth, Miller, Williamson and S. Dismukes scoring wins in singles. The only doubles team to win was McMillan/Stallworth.
In a shortened match against Atmore, Stokes, Mallory Martin and Stallworth were singles winners while Stokes and Stallworth won in doubles.
The girls continued their successful ways in Greenville with McMillan, Stokes, Miller, Stallworth and Williamson scoring wins in singles play. Teams of McMillan/Martin, Stokes/Stallworth and Williamson/Miller shut out the opposition in doubles play.
The Lady Tigers earned a win in Citronelle as Stokes, S. Miller, Stallworth, Williamson, Dismukes and G. Miller won in singles play while Stokes/Stallworth, S. Miller/Williamson and Dismukes/G. Miller won in doubles.
The girls scored another shutout against Jackson with McMillan, Stokes, S. Miller, Stallworth, Williamson, G. Miller were victorious in singles. Stokes/Stallworth, McMillan/Williamson and S. Miller and Dismukes won in doubles.
Last week, the girls continued their strong play with a victory over Atmore. In shortened play, Stokes, S. Miller, Dismukes and G. Miller each won in singles. In doubles, Stokes/Stallworth and McMillan/Williamson won.
Tigers
Although playing fewer matches than the girls, the boys' tennis team has also had success, going 2-1 on the season.
The Tigers started the season on the right track, scoring a win over W.S. Neal. Singles winners were Jake O'Neil, Marshall McDowell, Will Stokes, Hayes Martin and Clay Parker. Teams of McDowell/Martin and O/Neil/Stokes won in doubles.
The boys earned their second win against Opp as O'Neil, Clay Parker and Wesley Smith scored wins in singles. Teams of McDowell/Martin and O'Neil/Parker won in doubles.
The boys stumbled on April 3, falling to Jackson. However, top seed O'Neil as well as McDowell and Martin scored wins in singles as did McDowell/Martin in doubles.
