Mrs. Clara Mallard Gooden, 96, died Wednesday, April 17, 2003 in a Dallas hospital. She was a native of Brewton and a resident of Dallas for the past four years.
She is survived by two daughters, Bernice Phillips of Hyattsville, Md. and Gracie Carter McGill of Washington D.C.; four grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, April 23, at 11 a.m. at Piney Grove Baptist Church with Rev. William Brown officiating. The body will lie in state at the church one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at Piney Grove Baptist Church with Presley-Fluker Funeral Home directing.
