Theater goers will be be treated to a musical depiction of the 20th Century's most legendary tale of romance, adventure, greed and ambition when "Titanic" is presented on January 27.
The play will be presented at Jefferson Davis Community College and is part of next years season planned by the Brewton Council of the Arts.
The council endeavors to bring cultural opportunities to our area and will present three performances for the general public as well as two programs for school-aged children.
On March 14, "The Reluctant Dragon," will be staged here. This is the tale of a young boy who meets a poem-writing dragon, who helps the boy save face in his village while also saving his own skin.
The Arts for Youth Program, part of the Birmingham Children's Theater In-School program, will stage "Nightingale" for elementary school-aged students on Nov. 20. On March 31, the Brothers Grimm classic "Snow White" will be performed for pre-school and kindergarten aged children. That performance will be staged at St. Maurice Catholic Church.
All other performances will be held at the Woodfin-Patterson Auditorium on the campus of Jefferson Davis Community College.
