Mrs. Monrie Elizabeth Warren Salter, 73, died Tuesday, March 2, 2004 in Century. She had been a resident of the Flomaton area since 1956 and had worked as a teacher's aid for the Escambia County School System. She was a member of Little Escambia Baptist Church and was preceded in death by a brother, Floyd Warren and a grandchild.
She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Rogers V. Salter Sr. of Flomaton; two sons, Roger V. Salter Jr. and Larry E. Salter, both of Flomaton; two daughters, Beverly S. Simpson of Flomaton and Pamela S. Meiners of Pensacola; a brother, Billy Warren of Castleberry; a sister, Edna Pate of Castleberry, seven grandchildren and on step-grandchild.
Funeral services were held Friday, March 5, at 2 p.m. at Little Escambia Baptist Church with Rev. Ralph Morgan, Rev. Jeff Howard and Rev. Larry Patterson officiating. Burial followed at Little Escambia Cemetery with Flomaton Funeral Home directing. Pallbearers were John V. Mitchell, Joseph E. Mitchell, James Clay Simpson, Travis L. Salter, Richard Cody Salter and Jacob M. Bonds. Honorary pallbearers were Jack Morris, Bo Brantley, Junior Bell, Winfred Morgan, Virgil Armstrong, Edward Mize, C.J. Emmons and Reggie Bonds.
