The East Brewton City Council met Monday for its first regular meeting in April and several items of business were discussed.
At the last council meeting council members Bettie Jordan and Byron Palmer were appointed to find a replacement for East Brewton Water Board member Robert Knowles who resigned recently. The council postponed appointment of a new Water Board member till their next meeting.
In other business, Mayor Terry Clark mentioned that the county has posted signs prohibiting truck traffic on Ridge Road, and he proposed that the City of East Brewton post signage on three streets -- Snowden, Shoffner and Dailey -- that would also prohibit loaded truck traffic.
The council also accepted a $5,600 bid to have work done on the Cedar Hill Loop. Sewer work that was done in that area has resulted in some road damage that will be repaired and paved, said East Brewton city clerk Karen Singleton.
