Mr. Wilburn Wesley "Buddy" Dees, 73, died Wednesday, April 14, 2004 at his residence. He was a native of Tunnel Springs and a resident of Mexia. He attended Eastwood Baptist Church in Monroeville. He was a veteran of the United States Army serving for about two years. He worked for Monroe County as a truck driver and was preceded in death by his son, Wilburn Wesley Dees Jr.
He is survived by his wife, Virginia Dees of Mexia; three daughters, Lois Wiggins and Linda Joiner, both of Monroeville and Ruby Laster of Castleberry: three sisters, Dollie Mae Vernon and Ruby Helton, both of Monroeville and Mable Dean of Peterman; six grandchildren; one step-grandchild and one great-grandchild.
Funeral services were held Friday, April 16 at 11 a.m. at Monroe Chapel Funeral Home with Dr. Sam Tate officiating. Burial followed at Philadelphia Baptist Church Cemetery in Tunnel Springs with Monroe Chapel Funeral Home directing.
