Brewton Midgets top Myrtle Grove; Mites, Mini Mites fall

Brewton youth football teams went 1-2 in their action against Myrtle Grove Saturday.
The Midgets posted the only victory for Brewton, as they kncoked off Myrtle Grove 30-0.
Running back Derrick Riley ran for more than 150 yards and scored four touchdowns to pace the Midgets. Eddie Shufford added a 40-yard touchdown run.
Devin Nicholason, Johntae Brown, Jeren Jackson and James Matthews led the defensive performance.
The Brewton Mites fell to Myrtle Grove 7-2. The Mites' lone score came on a safety.
On the defensive side, D.J. Smith had a fumble recovery for the Mites. Jacob Fillmore, Ricky Curry, Darrion Salter and Austin Land also had good defensive games.
The Brewton Mites also came up short against Myrtle Grove, as they dropped a 27-7 decision.
Brewton's lone score came courtesy of a two-yard touchdown run by Dominique Jackson. Quarterback Kieon Smith added the conversion.
Jaylon Herbert, Larry Cheatham, Tyran Luckey and Dedrionne Lee paced the Mites on the defensive end.
