An accident involving two vehicles occurred Wednesday around 4 p.m.on Hwy. 31. Both persons involved were from Brewton. One person was taken to the hospital.
According to Brewton Police Lt. James Hicks, James B. Byrd, 22, of Brewton, was driving a 1988 Chevrolet R 3500 truck.
He was traveling north on Hwy. 31 and stopped to make a turn across the highway from Bondurant Lumber.
Stephen Johnson, 46, of Brewton, was driving a 2000 Nissan Frontier.
Johnson was traveling north when he struck the Nissan from the rear, according to Hicks.
Johnson was transferred to D.W. McMillan Hospital with unknown injuries.
