Mrs. Rushie Hawthorne Schad, 77, died Sunday, April 3, 2005, at a local hospital after a brief illness. She was a native of Century, Fla., and a long time resident of Escambia County, Ala. She was a member of South Bethel Church and a retired seamstress at Judy Bond.
She is survived by a daughter, Faye (Ken) Simoneau of Milton, Fla.; one step-daughter, Gayle (Bobby) Reeves of Castleberry; a sister, Mavis Hawthorne Harris of Old Town, Fla.; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, April 5, at 2 p.m. at Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral home with the Rev. Phillip Pettis and the Rev. Charles Scott officiating. Burial followed at Fort Crawford Cemetery with Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home directing.
