It did not last as long as their first encounter, but that did not make it any less painful for the Brewton Little League 11-12 All-Stars to endure.
Brewton's tournament trail ended pretty much the same way it began, with a double digit loss to Covington County.
Covington County needed five innings to beat Brewton 13-0 the opening round of the district tournament at Opp last Sunday. Covington County needed only four innings to eliminate Brewton Tuesday 11-0.
Brewton, which managed only two hits in the first encounter, was shut down on three hits Tuesday by Covington County pitcher Troy Nolen.
Nolen got the only run he needed in the top of the first inning when Covington County's Josh Dewrell ripped a solo homerun off Brewton starting and losing pitcher Ryland Dixon.
Nolen also helped his own cause in that top of the first inning when he walked and later scored on a wild pitch to make it 2-0.
Brewton's best chance to break through against Nolen came in the bottom of the first. Bradley Brown led off with a single and Trent Robinson also singled two batters later. The threat ended when Dylan Bell hit a line drive that was snared by Covington County first baseman Steadman Gerber, who then stepped on the bag to double off Robinson.
Covington County began to pull away in the top of the third inning when a four-run rally ran its lead to 6-0. Bradley Benton and Levi Lumpkin both had RBI doubles and Fernando Torres contributed an RBI single. Another run scored on a wild pitch.
Covington County was able to finish off the game on the 10-run rule in the fourth inning when it plated five more runs to extend its lead to 11-0.
Benton had a bases loaded walk, Anthony Elmore and Dewrell both had RBI singles,

Lumpkin had an RBI groundout and another run scored on a wild pitch.
Meanwhile Brewton's offense managed just one additional hit against Nolen after the first inning. Robinson picked up his second hit of the game when he singled in the third inning.
