68-year-old found dead in his yard

A 68-year-old man was found dead at his residence on Tuesday afternoon.
Responding to a call, deputies from the Escambia County Sheriff's Office found Samuel Evans at his residence at 14766 Hwy. 29 in the Boykin Community. According to a news release, members of the Boykin Volunteer Fire Department were paged and arrived on the scene as deputies were responding. Evans was pronounced dead by paramedics with D.W. McMillan ambulance service.
Escambia County Sheriff Grover Smith said there was no evidence of foul play. The Alabama Department of Forensic Sciences in Mobile will perform an autopsy to determine the exact cause of death.
Witnesses said they saw Evans walking in the front yard about 20 minutes prior to house residents finding him in his front yard.
The case is currently under investigation by the Escambia County Sheriff's Department. This is the third dead man found within two weeks in the area. The prior deaths are still being investigated by law enforcement officials.
