Mrs. Lorene Bohannon Perry Brown, 91, died Saturday, Sept. 3, 2005 in Jay. She was a native of Jay and a life long resident of Florida. She was a school teacher in Santa Rosa County for a few years, and owned and operated the Bake Shop Cafe in Jay for many years. She was a member of Jay First Baptist Church where she was a teacher for 65 years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Benson K. Brown; her brothers, T.J. Bohannon and Hughie Bohannon; and her sisters, Cricket Reilly and Inez Dean.
She is survived by a daughter, Sandra; a stepson, Glynn (Wanda) Brown; a grandson, Jason Fewell; a great-grandson and many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held today, Wednesday, Sept. 7, at 3 p.m. at Jay First Baptist Church with Bro. Earle Greene and Bro. Chip Fox officiating and Jay Funeral Home directing. Pallbearers will be Bill Cannon, David McCarthy, Bert Settle, Jim Settle, Bernard Peacock and Jack Carden. Friends and family will serve as honorary pallbearers.
