Groundbreaking ceremonies will be held in less than three months on a $1.25 million Jefferson Davis Junior College "campus revitalization" that includes construction of a small multi-purpose auditorium, nursing/biology classroom complex and recreational complex.
The Escambia County Hospital Board decided last Thursday to go ahead with the sale of its $1 million bond issue for construction at D.W. McMillan Hospital.
A Whiting Field Marine Instructor and his student pilot were scheduled for release from Pensacola Naval Hospital Wednesday following a bizzarre plane collision that occurred near Brewton Monday. The fast-moving series of events began at 3 p.m. Monday when a turkey buzzard crashed through the cockpit of a T-34C training plane flying at 2,500 feet six miles north of Brewton.
Estimates from the National Council on Alcoholism show that 90 percent of today's teenagers are trying alcohol.
