Mr. Joseph J.W. “Dub” White, 77, died Saturday, Oct. 29, 2005, at a Pensacola hospital. He was a native of Pineview and a resident of Flomaton for most of his life. He was a former employee with St. Regis, worked for the town of Flomaton, a member of the volunteer fire department, a supervisor for the Escambia County Work Release Program and attended the Century Church of Christ. He was preceded in death by a brother, Narvie Lee White.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Rosa Lee White of Flomaton; a son, Gene (Mae) White of Flomaton; two daughters, Dianne White (Charles) Frazier and Debra White (Wayne) Brown, both of Brewton; a grandson, Josh (Tracey) Brown of Brewton; two granddaughters, Renee (Kevin) Merchant of Century and Katherine Page of Troy; a brother, Thomas (Lois) White of Gonzalez, Fla.; three sisters, Ruthie Mae Summerlin, Eula Ree (Ed) Mize, both of Flomaton, and Martha (Clifford) White of Atmore and three great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, Nov. 1, at 10 a.m. at the Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with Minister Clifford Dixon officiating. Burial followed at Little Escambia Cemetery. Pallbearers were Chris Johnson, Kevin Merchant, Gary White, Tony White, James Summerlin and Danny White. Honorary pallbearers were William Reaves, Ray Jerkins and Charles Diehnelt.
