Michael L. Sasser, a Brewton native and former T.R. Miller High School athlete, is returning to his alma mater as head football coach and athletic director.
Escambia Ambulance Service was equipped last week with Medical Anti-Shock Trousers (MAST) provided by the State Emergency Medical Service office through a grant from the Office of Highway Traffic and Safety and distributed by the Southwest Alabama Emergency Medical Service System Inc.
W.S. Neal hosts a Christmas Invitational Tournament beginning tonight, Thursday, with T.R. Miller facing Evergreen in a 6 p.m. tipoff.
The ninth annual Christmas Ball, sponsored by the Brewton Sportsman Club, will be held Thursday, Dec. 25, from 10 p.m. to 2 a.m. at the National Guard Armory.

The W.S. Neal Marching Band won first place in the Veterans Day Parade in Birmingham.
Ted jennings was elected president of the T.R. Miller Quarterback Club for the 1980-81 year. Other officers included Bob Chamberlin, president-elect; Jim Stark, secretary-tresurer; Don Beard, football program chairman; Charles Ballard, membership chairman; and Bill Ward, past president.
