Mr. Willie Horace Weaver, 74, died Tuesday, Dec. 13, 2005, in Walnut Hill, Fla., after injuries sustained in an automobile accident. He was a native and longtime resident of the L-Pond community and was a former resident of Evergreen. He was a former deputy sheriff with the Conecuh County Sheriff's Department and was a member of the Holly Grove United Methodist Church. He was a member of the Castleberry Masonic Lodge 580 and Brooklyn Lodge 470 and a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He was preceded in death by his sister, Mary Evelyn Weaver.
He is survived by his mother, Mamie Lynch Weaver of Castleberry; his wife, Martha Sue Smith Weaver of Castleberry; three daughters, Tammy (Jerry) Darby and Teresa Weaver, both of Castleberry, and Rita (Donnie) Baggett of Atmore; two brothers, Fenlick (Myra) Weaver and Olan (Jeanette) Weaver, both of Castleberry; two granddaughters, April Gibson of Barnetts Crossroads and Krystal Baggett of Atmore; two great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Dec. 17, at 11 a.m. at Holly Grove United Methodist Church with the Rev. Buddy Williams, the Rev. Frankie Phillips and the Rev. Thomas Smith officiating. Burial followed at the L-Pond community with Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home directing. Pallbearers were Jerry Weaver, Jim Reed, Lee Dolihite, Billy Wayne Godwin, Verion Dolihite and Jeppie Dees.
