I was delighted to receive this email last week and I wanted to share it with you. It makes me feel good when someone is willing to share what he has with others who are interested.
I know that there is a lot of interest in the old Ritz Theater and these are some photographs I have not seen before. I hope you enjoy and they may bring back some memories.
For those of you who have never heard of Deanna Durbin, she was a famous star of the 30s and 40s. You may notice the photo of the inside of the theater shows that other things went on there besides movies
. It looks as if there was a beauty pageant going on for Miss Brewton and the date on the sign is 1937. The photo of the outside of the theater would have been taken at a later date, as it is one that I already had in my collection. I believe it was probably taken sometime in the 50s.
