Mrs. Berdie Dees Haynes Jackson died Tuesday, April 18, 2006, in Mobile. She was a native of Monroe County and was preceded in death by her husbands, James Haynes Sr. and Charles Jackson; her sisters, Ruby Sessions, Pearl Turnipseed and Willis Dees and one brother, Otis Dees.
She is survived by a son, James E. Haynes Jr. of Mobile, a sister, Eunice Griffin of Newport News, Va.; a grandson, James Haynes III of Mobile; a granddaughter, Rebecca Harmon of Woodbridge, Va.; two great grandsons and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held Thursday, April 20, at 2 p.m. at Poplar Springs Baptist Church in Uriah with the Rev. Bob Godbee officiating. Burial followed at the church cemetery with Craver's Funeral Home directing.
