It may not have been the best way for the T.R. Miller golf team to finish up the regular season in terms of result, but the Tigers probably could not have asked for a better tune-up in terms of competition in Monday's triangular meet at Andalusia.
The host and defending Class 4A state champion Bulldogs dominated play with a sizzling 18-holes score of 287. Carroll of Ozark was a distant runner-up at 328, while the Tigers were third at 342.
T.R. Miller's best score belonged to Tripp Owens, who shot a five-over-par 77. James Dixon came in at 84, while Hayes Martin tallied a round of 89. Brooks Fussell was the final counter at 92. Clay Parker also competed and finished at 94.
The Tigers are off until May 4 when they participate in the Class 3A Section Meet, which will be held at Lagoon Park in Montgomery.
