Baseball coaches always feel they do not have enough pitching particularly lefthanded pitching.
Jefferson Davis Community College Warhawks coach Darrell Blevins hopes he has filled some of that void with the signing of Baker (Fla.) Gators lefthander Matt Cawton.
Cawton fanned 103 batters in just 57 innings with a 1.28 earned run averaged this past season. Cawton's best asset could be his control, he had an 18-1 strikeout to walk ratio.
Cawton said location is the key to his success.
Blevins expects Cawton to contribute right away next season.
Cawton plans to major in education at JDCC.
