Mrs. Martha Gail Johnson Burgess, 64, died Friday, May 26, 2006. She was a native of Attalla and lived most of her life in Monroeville and Brewton. She was preceded in death by her father, Mitchell Travis Johnson and her husband, Andrew Ray Burgess.
She is survived by her mother, Dorothy Johnson; three sons, Frederick (Becky) Burgess, Sanford Burgess and Scott (Kathy) Burgess; a sister, Patsy (Phillip) Hudson; two brothers, Jim (Etta) Johnson and Russell Johnson and 14 grandchildren.
Visitation will be held Monday, May 29, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Craver's Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, May 30, at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at Fort Crawford Cemetery in East Brewton with Craver's Funeral Home directing. Pallbearers will include nephews Mitchell, Patrick and Anderson Hudson, Clint and Jonathan Johnson and Duke Parnell. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
