Two JDCC athletes land Academic All-American

Two individuals and one team at Jefferson Davis Community College have received Academic All-American Awards for the 2006 spring season.
Freshman baseball player Kyle Reed and sophomore softball player Jessica Cunningham both received Academic All-American status. Student-athletes had to maintain a grade point average between 3.60 and 3.79 to receive that honor. Student athletes with GPAs between 3.80 and 4.0 received Distinguished Academic All-American honors.
Reed, a pitcher from Cantonment (Fla.), had a 3.76 GPA. Cunningham, a shortstop from Milton (Fla.), sported a 3.60 GPA.
JDCC softball received team Academic All-American status. Programs had to have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.0 to earn that status. JDCC softball had a team GPA of 3.14.
