Pairings have been set for the upcoming Little League Age 10-11 state tournament, which will be held at Mobile's Westside Park July 15-21.
Brewton, which won the district 5 tournament played at Andalusia, drew a first-round matchup against the district 8 champion. District 8 covers the Huntsville area.
The Brewton-Huntsville area game is the first contest of the tournament and will be played July 15 at 5:30 p.m.
One additional first-round game will be played that
day and will pit the district
6 champion from the Sheffield area against the district 4 champion from
the Sylacauga area at 7:30 p.m.
The Brewton-Huntsville area winner will face the district 3 champion out of the Choctaw County region July 16 at 5:30 p.m. The Choctaw County area winner received a first-round bye.
The winner of the Sheffield-Sylacauga area games will play the district 7 champion out of the Mobile area July 16 at 7:30 p.m. The Mobile area champ also drew a first-round bye.
The loser of the Brewton-Huntsville area game will enter the elimination bracket and face the loser of Mobile/Sheffield-Sylacauga game July 17 at 5:30 p.m.
The Sheffield-Sylacauga area loser will also enter elimination bracket play July 17 with a 7:30 p.m. game against the Choctaw County/Brewton-Huntsville loser.
Additional elimination bracket games will be played July 18 at 7:30 p.m. and July 19 at 7 p.m.
The semifinal championship bracket game will be July 18 at 5:30 p.m.
The championship round gets underway July 20 at 7 p.m. If necessary, the second championship round game will be July 21 at 7 p.m.
For those fans who will be attending the tournament, they should use the following directions to Westside Park.
Fans should exit I-65 at Airport Boulevard West and travel 6.1 miles to Schillingers Road. Turn left on Schillingers Road, travel one mile to Hitt Road and make another left turn. Drivers will then make an immediate turn to the left on to Park Driveway. Follow Park Driveway through Brewer Center Parking Lot. Proceed far left and enter Westside Park behind the movie theatre.
There will be a sendoff for the Brewton 11s
Friday at 4:30 p.m. that starts from the T.R. Miller Fieldhouse. The team will get a police escort down Belleville Avenue down
to Highway 31 and proceed all the way to Craver's Funeral Home.
All supporters of the team are encouraged to participate in the sendoff.
