The Alabama Cattlemen's Association is hosting two meetings in Alabama's Gulf Coast region to help cattle producers prepare for what may be another terrible hurricane season.
The meetings are planned for July 27 in Atmore at the Creek Indian Restaurant and July 28 in Mobile at the Jon Archer Ag Center. The meetings will begin at 4 p.m. each day and conclude at 8 p.m. after a complimentary supper.
Each meeting will include speakers covering farm insurance coverage, Alabama's State Agricultural Response Team, Farm Service Agency programs, safe handling of stressed animals, as well as proper fencing and chainsaw handling demonstrations.
These meetings are open to all cattle producers in the region and are offered as a free educational opportunity through a grant from Pfizer Animal Health.
For more information or to sign up for the meeting, contact the Alabama Cattlemen's Association at 334-265-1867 or e-mail aca@bamabeef.org.
