Lady Warhawks glad to put last year in rearview mirror

Problems off the court led to plenty of problems on the court for the Jefferson Davis Community College Lady Warhawks volleyball team a year ago.
It all added up to a 3-29 record and a season-ending 20-game losing streak. In fact, the Lady Warhawks lost their last 42 sets.
Nims naturally wants those sophomores to use last season's struggles as a motivator, not a carryover.
The Lady Warhawks are bringing in six freshmen into preseason training camp. They include outside hitters Amanda Pullen and Emily Doty, setters Kathy Phillips and Megan Petrie, middle hitter Lindi Thompson and defensive specialist Jaclyn Seay.

The Lady Warhawks, who have had open gym workouts during the summer, will open up with two-a-days the first week and a half of practice.
JDCC will make its season debut Aug. 25 at the Southern Union Tournament at Wadley.
