Mr. Junior Wesley Pettis, 72, of Hwy. 31, died Saturday, Dec. 9, 2006, at his residence after a brief illness. He was a native of Conecuh County and a lifelong resident of Escambia County, Ala. He attended Oak Grove Holiness Church and was a retired welder from the construction industry.
He is survived by his wife, Mittie Evelyn Pettis of Castleberry; a son, Ronald (Connie) Pettis of Brewton; a daughter, Cathy (Danny) Coley of Atmore; two sisters, Ruthie Johnson of Brewton, and Lorine Baker of Evergreen; five grandchildren, Judd Coley, Jennifer (Ed) Verdin, Mark (Katie) Pettis, Darbe (Nathan) Hooten and Holly (Jason) Wyatt; and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Monday, Dec. 11, at 11 a.m. at Oak Grove Holiness Church with the Rev. Robert Wilson officiating. Burial followed at the church cemetery with Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home directing.
