Work to renovate a downtown Brewton park is now a step closer to reality.
The Brewton City Council gave its blessing last week to the Tree and Beautification Committee to proceed with plans for improving Brewton City Park, which is located next to the Escambia County courthouse downtown.
Through the generosity of a donor who wishes to remain anonymous, the Beautification Committee has been able to pay for professional plans from a landscape architect and will be able to bring those plans to fruition.
In coming weeks we look forward to seeing final plans for the park - which could include a clock tower, larger grassy area, larger gazebo and a fountain. The City Park is one of two downtown that are slated for renovations thanks to donations from local groups and individuals.
We are lucky to have such generous people in our community who contribute to improving the quality of life for all.
