Rosters set for Brewton Advanced Babe Ruth
The rosters have been set for the two Brewton Advanced Babe Ruth All-Star teams.
Members of the 16-year-olds include Sam Sharpe, Corey Williams, Blake Crosby, Tyler Brown, Tyler Cross, Tyler Nall, James Hamric, Jacob Cannon, John Mathieu, William Shell, Grant DeFrancisco and Jake Hodge.
Wayne Nall will be the head coach for the 16-year-olds. Assistant coaches are Mark Cannon and Joey Shell.
Members of the 16-18-year-olds include Allen Williams, Seth Holland, Christopher Griffin, Will Waters, Jonathan Taylor, Tanner Shehan, Josh Sawyer, Jake Dixon, Jake Hunsinger, Josey Brown, Becker Denton, Derek Busby, Wesley Booker, Jake Smith and Mackie Jackson.
Mike Perry will be the head coach for the 16-18-year-olds. Assistant coaches are Jacob Salter and Daniel Hodge.
The first action for both teams will be the state tournament, which gets underway Thursday at T.R. Miller High School.
The Brewton 16-year-olds open up play Thursday at 5 p.m. against Gulf Coast, while the 16-18s open up later that day at 7 p.m. against Covington County.
Game times change
for state tournament
The pairings remain the same, but the game times have changed for the Advanced Babe Ruth State Tournaments, which will be held at T.R. Miller High School.
The tournament for 16-year-olds gets underway Thursday at 5 p.m. when Brewton faces Gulf Coast of Mobile. The other first-round game will be Friday at 1 p.m. between Smiths Station and Covington County.
The two first-round losers will square off Friday at 5 p.m., while the two winners meet Saturday at 1 p.m.
The second and final elimination game will be Saturday at 5 p.m.
The championship round will be next Sunday. The first game will be at 1 p.m. If necessary, the second game will be at 5 p.m.
The tournament for 16-18-year-olds kicks off Thursday at 7 p.m. when Brewton faces Covington County. The other first-round game will be Friday at 3 p.m. between Atmore and Gulf Coast.
The two first-round losers will meet in an elimination game Friday at 7 p.m. The two first-round winners will play Saturday at 3 p.m.
The second and final elimination game will be Saturday at 7p.m.
The championship round will get underway next Sunday at 3 p.m. If necessary, a second championship game will be at 7 p.m.
The admission price will be $8 per session for fans age 13 and older, $4 for fans age 5-12 and free admission for fans age four and under.
