Mrs. Lera Nette Sturdivant, 88, died Monday, July 23, 2007, at her residence in Flomaton. She was a native of Pollard, a graduate of Bay Minette High School in 1937, and a longtime resident of Flomaton. During her working years, she worked as head bookkeeper with Watson-English Hardware Store in Atmore. She was a member of Little Escambia Baptist Church and a lifetime member of the Eastern Star. She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Herndon Sturdivant.
She is survived by nieces and nephews, Marjean Samples, Joe C. Brown, Mike Eubanks, Jackie James, Gary Eubanks, James Earl Eubanks, Richard Eubanks, Larry Eubanks, Charles Ray, Wendell Driskell, Brenda Driskell, and Gerald Driskell; her caregiver and friend, Darlene Adams.
Funeral services were held Thursday, July 26, at 10:30 a. m. at Flomaton Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Larry Patterson officiating. Burial followed at Flomaton Cemetery with Flomaton Funeral Home directing. Pallbearers were deacons of Little Escambia Baptist Church and honorary pallbearers were Sunday school class members.
