City officials are seeking a $470,000 grant to help build hangars at the Brewton airport.
The city actually was approved for a similar grant last year but could not pay the matching costs for it, City Clerk John Angel told council members Tuesday.
The city's matching funds would be $11,768 and would come from the airport fund, he said.
Also Tuesday, the council gave Angel permission to sell three of the oldest police cars in the fleet on an online government auction.
