Mr. W.L. Wadkins, 88, died Monday, Dec. 17, 2007 at his residence. He was a native of Flomaton, but was a lifelong resident of Century. He was the owner of Wadkins Welding, a member of the 32nd Degree Mason of Century Masonic Lodge 213 and of the Century United Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife, Thelma Garrett Wadkins.
He is survived by two sons, Ron Wadkins of Pensacola, Fla., and Garrett Wadkins of Atlantic Beach, Fla.; a daughter, Cheryl Carlos of Lawrenceville, Ga.; nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held Saturday, Dec. 22, at 10 a.m. until service time at Century United Methodist Church.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, Dec. 22, at 11 a.m. at Century United Methodist Church with the Rev. Janet Lee and the Rev. John Webb officiating. Burial will follow at Mize-Wadkins Cemetery in Flomaton with Flomaton Funeral Home directing. Pallbearers will be Lamar Dunn, Michael Dunn, Ronald E. Wadkins Jr., Patrick R. Wadkins, Brian D. Wadkins and Monte J. Carlos.
