JDCC hoops beat Bishop State 87-83 in OT, now 7-16 on year

After trailing by six at the end of the first half, the JDCC basketball team tied the game at 76-76 at the end of regulation before outscoring Bishop 11-7 in overtime to win 87-83 in Mobile Thursday night.
With the win, the Warhawks improved to 7-16 overall and 4-8 in conference play.
JDCC trailed 39-33 at the end of the first half and then outscored Bishop 43-37 to tie the game at 76-76 to send the game into overtime before winning in overtime.
Donald Smith led the Warhawks with 26 points in the game as four other Warhawks finished in double figures to take the win.
Quintereal Kelley had 17 as Damien Jackson finished with 14. Will DuPont finished with 11 and Norman Griffin finished with 10 points in the win.
JDCC played at Southern Union on Saturday and will return to action Thursday in Enterprise before returning home to face Faulkner at home on Saturday, Feb. 23 at 7 p.m.
The game will be the last home game for the Warhawks and they will close out their season Feb. 28 with LBW in Andalusia.
