Fountain indicted on drug charges

A Brewton man is facing 10 years in a federal prison after being indicted by a federal grand jury last week.
Christopher Fountain was charged with one count of conspiracy to possess with the intent to distribute crack cocaine. He was also charged with one count of interstate travel in aid of racketeering.
Hutchins said work by members of the 21st Judicial Drug Task Force unit is responsible for the outcome in this case.
The conspiracy count in the indictment charges an amount of crack cocaine in excess of 50 grams, which triggers a 10 year mandatory minimum imprisonment sentence.
The maximum sentence for the charge is life imprisonment. Parole has been abolished in this case with the federal criminal justice system.
