Mrs. Bessie Lee Thornton, 83, died Monday, March 3, 2008, in a Panama City nursing facility. She was a native of Brewton and had been living in Panama City for the past five years.
She is survived by a sister, Inez Scott of Corpus Christi, Texas; a sister-in-law, Dorothy Thornton of Saraland; nieces, Elizabeth Dursema and Mildred Littlefield, both of Panama City, and several great-nieces and nephews.
Graveside funeral services were held Thursday, March 6, at 1 p.m. at Catawba Springs Cemetery with David Thornton officiating and Craver's Funeral Home directing.
