JD baseball gets one of three

After winning their last two ball games, the Jefferson Davis Community College baseball team dropped two of three over the weekend when they faced Enterprise-Ozark Community College in Enterprise.
The Warhawks fell to 15-13 overall as they lost 2-1 in game one, won 16-8 in game two, and lost 2-1 in game three.
The Warhawks will be back in action Friday and Saturday, March 28 and 29 at home when they take on Wallace State Community College of Dothan at JDCC Warhawk field in Brewton.
Game one: Enterprise-Ozark 2,
JDCC 1
In game one against Enterprise-Ozark, both teams struck for runs in the first inning and scored no more.
The Warhawks took a 1-0 lead in the top half of the first but Enterprise-Ozark struck for two as they took the 2-1 win.
Kyle Snedeker led the Warhawks at the plate with a 2-for-4 showing. Snedeker had a double and the lone RBI in the loss.
Derrick Young took the loss on the mound for the Warhawks as he went eight innings and allowed six hits and two runs (one earned). Young walked one and had no strikeouts in the loss.
Justin Reeves added two hits for the Warhawks in the loss.
Game two: JDCC 16,
Enterprise-Ozark 8
Cody Sanderson was a perfect 6-for-6 with a double and a homerun and three RBIs to help the JDCC Warhawks to a 16-8 win over Enterprise in game two and improve to 15-12 on the season.
The Warhawks pounded out 23 hits in the win as they took a 5-3 lead in the second inning after trailing 3-0 after one inning of play.
The Warhawks trailed 6-5 after four innings of play, but scored four runs in the sixth inning and four in the eighth inning to take the eight run win.
Wes Gambrill added three RBIs in the win after a 3-for-6 showing for the Warhawks.
Robby Carlson picked up the win on the mound for the Warhawks as he went six innings and allowed six runs (four earned) on eight hits and walked one while striking out five.
Hunter Brown came in relief and went three innings and allowed two runs on two hits and struck out one.
Game three: Enterprise-Ozark 2, JDCC 1
Just like in game one but in opposite fashion, the JDCC Warhawks dropped a 2-1 decision to Enterprise-Ozark in the rubber match of the series.
Game one saw both teams score the only runs in the first inning of the game and game three saw the same scoring just in the last inning of the game.
After six scoreless innings of play, the Warhawks scored one run in the top of the seventh inning to take a 1-0 lead only to fall to two runs in the bottom half of the inning to fall 2-1 in the game.
The loss dropped JDCC to 15-13 overall on the year.
Michael Clay earned the loss on the mound for the Warhawks. Clay went six and one-third innings and allowed two earned runs on five hits and walks two and struck out eight.
Clay Simpson was a perfect 2-for-2 on the day for the Warhawks as Justin Reeves RBI drove in Cody White for the Warhawks lone run of the game.
Cordaro Lindsey and Hunter Norris had two hits each in the loss.
