The T.R. Miller tennis team captured their second straight sectional title and will advance to the state tournament in Mobile next week as the boys team won over W.S. Neal, Andalusia, Opp and Jackson Thursday in Andalusia.
T.R. Miller trailed 26-12 to Andalusia before winning all doubles matches to take the win 30-28.
Singles winners for the Tigers were No. 1 singles Paul Ludolph, No. 3 singles Drew Lambert, and doubles winners in the No. 1 slot Ludolph and Roy Brown, No. 2 Lambert and Todd Robinson, and No. 3 Caleb Smith and Brian Oliver.
On the boys side, Paul Ludolph advanced to state in the No. 1 side followed by Roy Brown in No. 2, Drew Lambert No. 3, Todd Robinson No. 4, Nick Moore No. 5, and Caleb Smith No. 6.
In doubles, Ludolph and Brown will be in No. 1 as Robinson and Lambert in No. 2 and Smith and Oliver in No. 3.
On the girl's side, Jami Li was the No. 5 singles winner for the Lady Tigers and Mallory Mullis and Laferria Hetherington took a win in the No. 3 doubles but the Lady Tigers fell to Andalusia and Opp.
For W.S. Neal's tennis team, the Eagles won two matches total.
No. 5 singles Mack Coffey and No. 6 singles Stephen Mesker both won a match for the boys on Thursday.
The W.S. Neal Lady Eagles girls did not win a match. Both boys won one match, and then were defeated in the next match.
