Hannah Fountain, seventh grader at Charles Henderson Middle School in Troy recently competed in a National Archery event and walked away with a bronze medal for her efforts.
Fountain, granddaughter of Hugh and Gayle Fountain of East Brewton and Jeanette Locklier of Flomaton, participted in the National Arcery School Program event in Kentucky.
Fountain received the third place trophy with a score of 285 with the winner posting a 290 and the second place winner shooting a 287.
Fountain placed third out of 342 middle school shooters and placed ninth overall.
Fountain, who has been shooting since she was in the sixth grade in elementary school, won the state meet last year in her division.
Fountain is the daughter of Hugh and Susan Fountain of Troy.
