Southern Normal to host health fair next weekend

A variety of health and safety information and services for women, men, and children will be available at the second annual Community Health Fair sponsored by Maternal and Child Health Pipeline Training Program at Alabama State University.
The health fair will be held Saturday, Sept. 13, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at ASU's Southern Normal Campus, located at 164 Southern Normal Drive in Brewton.
Local practitioners and health educators will be available to answer questions and distribute information about many health and safety topics, including healthy eating,injury prevention, and immunizations. There will be representatives from D.W. McMillan Memorial Hospital, Sickle Cell Foundation, American Cancer Society, Department of Public Health, County Extension Offices in Escambia and Mobile, Northwest Blood Center, and many more.
This Health Fair is designed to increase health awareness to the community of Brewton and surrounding areas by providing health screenings, activities, materials, demonstrations, and information; increase awareness of local, state, and national health services and resources. In addition, this health fair serves to motivate participants to make positive health behavior changes.
