WSN Lady Eagles fall on senior night

On Senior Night Monday at W.S. Neal, the Lady Eagles dropped a five-game set to Northview while the JV Lady Eagles won 2-0.
The varsity Eagles took game won 25-23, fell in games two and three 25-15 and 25-22, won game four 25-22 and lost game five 15-12.
The JV Eagles won 25-18 and 25-19 to finish their season with a 3-5 record. The varsity Eagles fell to 6-9.
In the varsity game, Shelly said serve/receive contributed to their loss.
Shelly only has two seniors on her team this season and both were honored before the start of the volleyball game.

In the Lady Eagles JV game win over Northview, Bridget Ackerman and Athena Davis both had four service points in the game one to help lead W.S. Neal to a 25-18 win in game one.
The Lady Eagles took to an early 10-3 lead and held a 14-6 lead after two service points from Lauren Boatwright.
After a 21-13 lead for the Eagles, Northview cut the lead to 23-17, but held on for the win at 25-18.
In game two, Haley Lum and Britta Wood each had four service points each to help lead W.S. Neal to a 25-19 win.
After a close game early, W.S. Neal took a 9-4 lead and then a 16-10 lead after four straight points from Wood.
From there, Athena Davis added two service points as W.S> Neal took a 21-13 lead and claimed the 25-19 win.

In a hard fought battle for both teams, Northview outlasted the Lady Eagles in the varsity game to claim a 3-2 win.
In game one, seniors Brandi Deese and Caitlyn Blackman led with four service points each along with four from Megan Pence to lead to a 25-23 win in the first game.
W.S. Neal jumped out to an early 4-0 lead and an 11-3 before Northview stormed back and cut the lead to 11-7.
W.S. Neal quickly took back the lead at 14-7, but Northview again came back and took a 17-16 and lead 20-18 before Neal took a 23-21. After Northview tied the game at 23-23, Amanda Crawford added the final point and the Lady Eagles won 25-23.
In game two, Crawford led with three service points as Northview took the win in game two 25-15.
In game three, Northview led 23-11 and needed only two points to win, but Brittany Revel had eight straight service points to cut the lead to 22-24, but Northview took the win 25-22.
In game four, Sydney Andrews led the Eagles with six service points as they evened the matches at 2-2 with a 25-22 win.
The Lady Eagles jumped out to an early 6-1 and 8-3 lead and held an 11-5 lead until Northview claimed the lead at 14-12.
W.S. Neal quickly tied the game at 14-14 and took the win 25-22.
In the fifth and final game, a tight match was played until Northview claimed an 11-10 lead and extended it to 14-10 needing only one point for the win.
W.S. Neal cut the lead to 14-12, but Northview won 15-12.
Andrews and Revel both had two points.
W.S. Neal will be back in action beginning on Saturday in Atmore for the Escambia County Tournament.
W.S. Neal and Atmore will begin at 9 a.m. with Flomaton and T.R. Miller playing at 10 a.m.
T.R. Miller and W.S. Neal will tangle at noon and W.S. Neal will take on Flomaton at 1 p.m. Atmore and T.R. Miller will end the tournament at 2 p.m.
