WSN splits with Jay

The W.S. Neal Middle School Lady Eagles ended their two game losing streak Wednesday and the boys continued their slide as the two teams split against Jay Middle School in Jay.
The Lady Eagles defeated the Lady Royals 30-14 to improve to 3-2 on the year. The boys fell 43-38 to drop to 0-5.
W.S. Neal will be back in action on Tuesday, Dec. 2 at Flomaton. The girls game will begin at 1 p.m. and the boys will follow immediately after the girls.
Neal Middle School girls 30,
Jay 14
Tiana Smith led the Lady Eagles with 15 points as they defeated Jay 30-14.
W.S. Neal held a 3-2 lead over Jay before exploding for 14 points in the second quarter and holding Jay to three to claim a 17-5 halftime lead.
In the third quarter, Jay outscored the Lady Eagles 5-4 to cut the lead to 21-10.
W.S. Neal added to their lead with nine points in the fourth and final quarter and held Jay to four points to claim the 16-point win at 30-14.
Arianna Jones had five points for the Lady Eagles followed by four from Mariah Davis. Shapassion Lane, Daisha Flowers and Leslie McCreary all had two points in the win.
Jay 43, Neal Boys 38 
In the boys game, Jay jumped out to an early 12-2 lead in the first quarter and then held on to win by five over the W.S. Neal Middle School boys 43-38.
After falling behind by 10 points in the first quarter, Jay outscored W.S. Neal 13-12 in the second quarter to claim a 25-14 lead at the halftime break.
In the third quarter, W.S. Neal outscored Jay 12-7 to cut the lead to 32-26 and 12-11 in the fourth quarter, but fell 43-38.
