Mr. Thomas Albert Pullen, 85, died Wednesday, Dec. 3, 2008, at his home. He was a native of Monroe County and a resident of Brewton for 36 years. He was a World War II Navy veteran, an Auburn University graduate, a Certified Life Underwriter (CLU), a member of the Rotary Club, and a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Brewton where he served as a deacon. He was preceded in death by his parents, the Rev. and Mrs. L.M. Pullen; two children, Janet Pullen and U.S Army Captain David L. Pullen.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Ernestine Floyd Pullen of Brewton; three children, Martha Ann (Micky) McNeil of Frisco City, Jan (Marshall) Craver of Mobile, and Tim (Sybil) Pullen of Atlanta, Ga.; eight grandchildren, Desha Ackerman, Amanda Tatum, Whitney Hampton, Scott Craver, John Craver, Dru McNeil, Russ Pullen, and John David Pullen; four great-grandchildren; three sisters, Dorothy Albritton and Ruth Reed of Atmore, and Marvette Godwin of McDavid, Fla. and one brother, James Pullen of Atmore.
Visitation will be Monday, Dec. 8, from noon until 1 p.m. at Brewton First Presbyterian Church.
Funeral services will be held in the church sanctuary at 1 p.m. with the Rev. John Mathieu officiating. Burial will be at the Shiloh Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery in Frisco City, with Johnson Funeral Home of Monroeville directing.
