Coffers in Brewton and East Brewton were holding steady as 2008 came to a close.
Brewton City Clerk John Angel said figures currently available have shown steady tax revenue for the city.
Angel said tax reports to the city are delayed by as much as 60 days with some figures from October only recently being reported.
Alatax, or Revenue Discovery Systems, currently works with hundreds of local and state governments in several states providing taxpayer services, including business tax collection.
In East Brewton, business has also shown a steady rate of tax revenue for the city.
Karen Singleton, city clerk for East Brewton, said although the city has only seen one new business in the last year, revenues are showing a steady return.
Singleton said officials in the city were anxious to see how the tax revenues would be affected by the opening of the Walmart Supercenter in October in Brewton.
Based on the most recent figures, both Brewton and East Brewton are anticipating steady tax revenue for the coming months.
