Medical and business professionals were on hand Monday to help welcome Brewton's newest medical facility, a wound care clinic affiliated with D.W. McMillan Hospital.
The Wound Center, located at 1108 Douglas Ave., will officially open for patients Friday. The center will be open from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday and Friday. The program operates by appointment and requires a referral from a primary care physician.
The Wound Center is a collaboration between D.W. McMillan Memorial Hospital and Santa Rosa Medical Center.
Dr. Rainer Birk will serve as the medical director of the program.
Stephanie Bain and Melanie Miller, both registered nurses, will be working at the center and said they are excited about the new facility.
