Employment service representatives are ready to help unemployed Escambia County residents find a job - but the task isn't an easy one these days.
Barton, who works in the Brewton office of the Alabama Employment Service, said those seeking jobs for the first time in years, may see a big difference in the process.
Barton said employers now have orders for employment keyed into a state system managed by the Alabama Job Service.
Not only is the local office a place to search for employment, it is a place to find assistance in enhancing employability.
Barton said in the event of a mass layoff in the area, the local career center's involvement in WIA could be very beneficial.
