The streets of downtown Brewton were crowded with runners and walkers Saturday morning as D.W. McMillan Memorial Hospital held its first 5K to benefit Relay For Life.
Alan Ash of Atmore won the race with a time of 18:31, and Brewton’s Karissa Nelson was the first female finisher at 20:45. In all, 110 runners and walkers participated in the event, whose proceeds will go to the American Cancer Society.
Relay For Life is scheduled for April 4.
