Wreck injures four

A two-vehicle accident on U.S. 31 at Fannie Road Sunday sent four people to area hospitals according to officials the Alabama Department of Public Safety. The accident was reported to emergency crews at 4:10 p.m. Sunday.
George W. Hauer, 60, was driving a 2006 Toyota when it collided with a 1991 Oldsmobile being driving by David Smith, 37. Both drivers are believed to be residents of Flomaton.
Also injured in the accident were Leigh Smith, 39, Samantha Bryant 18, and Curtis Bryant 20. All three were passengers in the vehicle driven by Smith.
Officials reported Hauer and Leigh Smith were transported to Pensacola, Fla., hospitals by Lifeflight from the accident scene.
Others injured in the incident were treated for non-life threatening injuries. The Alabama Department of Public Safety is continuing an investigation into the accident.
