Mr. Clarence Augusta Stallworth, 81, died Saturday, March 21, 2009, in a local hospital. He was a native and resident of Brewton. He attended Southern Normal High School and later served with the U.S. Armed Forces. He had been employed by J.M. Chevrolet Company and T.R. Miller Mill Company.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Gaazella Lavern Stallworth; one daughter, Jerrie Dean Stallworth; three grandchildren, Shawn Stallworth and Andre’ Cortez Brown, both of Brewton, and John Arthur Brown Jr. of Marietta, Ga.; two daughters-in-law, Adell Brown of Marietta and Angela Bell of Brewton; one sister, Gussie (John) Harris of Brewton; a brother, Alton (Lillie) Bradley of St. Mary’s, Ga.; four sisters-in-law, Lillie Hendrith, Pearl Stallworth, Edna East and Margaret Brown, all of Brewton; a brother-in-law, Mark Hendrieth of Brewton; three great-grandchildren; and a host of other friends and relatives.
Funeral services were held Friday, March 27, at 1 p.m. at Greater Piney Grove Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. William Brown officiating. Burial followed at Springhill Cemetery with Presley-Fluker Funeral Home directing.
