TRM softball ends season

With their backs against the wall in game two of the class 3A softball regional in Gulf Shores Friday, the T.R. Miller softball team ended their season with a 7-6 loss to Wicksburg in extra innings.
With the Lady Tigers leading 4-3 in the bottom of the seventh inning, Wicksburg scored a run to tie the game at 4-4 and push the game into extra innings.
T.R. Miller scored two runs in the top of the eighth inning to grab a 6-4 lead, but fell to three runs in the bottom of the inning to lose 7-6 and finish 20-9 overall.
T.R. Miller held a 2-0 lead after the first inning and a 4-0 lead after the top of the second inning.
Wicksburg cut the lead to 4-1 in the bottom of the second inning and to 4-2 in the bottom of the fifth inning. They then scored a run in each of the sixth and seventh innings to tied the game up a 4-4 and win in eight innings by one run.
Sarah Lee was 3-for-4 in the loss and Natalie Neal was 2-for-4 with a triple. Leah Brundidge was 2-for-4 and Taylor Guthrie and Emily Waters were both 1-for-4.
Miranda Anderson took the loss on the mound for the Lady Tigers going eight innings and allowing 12 hits, one walk, and struck out three. T.R. Miller committed four errors in the loss.
T.R. Miller will lose only one senior from the 2009 in Brandi Kennedy.
