Mr. Luman P. Burnham, 82, died Sunday, June 14, 2009, at a local hospital. He was a native of Alabama, and a resident of Butler. During his working years he was employed at James River Paper Mill, and he was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II.
He is survived by four sons, Lawrence R. Burnham of Porterdale, Ga., Jimmy Burnham of Houston, Texas, William Burnham of Collinsville, Miss., and Scott Burnham of Hogansville, Ga.; a daughter, Rose M. Stafford of Gilbertown, Ala.; a brother, Oscar Louis Burnham of Brewton; 10 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, June 17, at 2 p.m. at Calvary Baptist Church with the Rev. Jerry Turner and the Rev. Fred Wiley officiating. Burial followed at Rest Haven Cemetery in Butler, with Bumpers Funeral Home directing.
